A Unique Evening with an Old Art Form

Last Thursday, February 9th, the Kevin D. Marlo Little Theatre opened its door to a little love just in time for Valentine’s Day. Author and professional letter writer Samara O’Shea educated a group of letters lovers on the art of crafting the perfect love letter.

Samara began by reading an excerpt from her book “For the Love of Letters: A 21st-Century Guide to the Art of Letter Writing.” She then gave attendees a look into different ways of composing a love letter along with examples of each. Her examples included modern day love letters as well as letters from several historical figures.

Guests were given the opportunity to purchase a copy of Samara’s book and also left with an inspirational pen. The evening was a great reminder that the simplest of acts can leave the greatest of impressions.

Act II Begins

The Little Theatre is gearing up for the Spring semester! Students return next week and the Little Theatre is opening its doors once again. The Fall semester ended with two great events.

On November 2nd, the Little Theatre hosted the Philly N Crowd. This short form improv comedy troupe brought an hour of unscripted laughter. The Philly N Crowd was voted 2010's best comedy group on Philly's Hot List. They have also appeared at the Philadelphia Improv Festival, Bethlehem's First Night on New Year's Eve, the Philly Fringe Festival & more! To find out more about this talented group of comedians, please visit their website at www.phillyncrowd.com.
Members of the N Crowd perform for the students at Harcum College.
On November 16th, the students were given the opportunity to participate in a jewelry making workshop. Several of the Harcum girls came out and were instructed by, Black Roses Custom Jewelry owners, Karima Taylor and Tashia Colzie. Each participant was shown how to create a bracelet and a pair of earrings. The event was a great way for students to express their individual creativity.
